Vam Ho Bird Sanctuary

Vam Ho at Tan My commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre city about 54 km, located on the right bank of the Ba Lai River, an area 68 hectares, is the coastal estuary ecosystems, typical of mangrove forests.
Here, there are 84 species of resident birds such as ibis, heron flies, white storks, night herons, white chest, water-hen, tailorbird, boucal, black drongo, crow, so on … Wild animal black mink, weasels, … reptiles are snakes, pythons, lizards, turtles, … inside the bird sanctuary is a system of interlaced canals so there are many shrimps fish, mainly goby, crab, crayfish … Coming here, tourists go boating down Ba Lai river, watching the vast water coconut forest. When the sun is about to set, it’s time hundreds of thousands of birds storks, from many places to go back to their warm shelter of Vam Ho, a large bird sanctuary, to replace the night herons with the start of taking off for night eating.
